Join 3-day prayer campaign to fight Ebola

As an Enhanced National Action in our fight against Ebola, the Liberian Council Churches and other national church groupings in the country, including the Association of Evangelicals of Liberia (AEL), Liberia Fellowship of Full Gospel Ministers, Pentecostal Fellowship Union of Liberia, Prophetic Call to Ministers, and Christian Community of Liberia, among others, have declared a 3-day National Stay-Home Fast and Prayer Action from Wednesday, August 6 – Friday, August 8, 2014 to cry unto God Almighty to heal the nation of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.

During the 3 days, all Liberians and those within our borders shall stay home and pray; all offices, businesses, and market places shall be closed; there shall be no commuting of people (except those working in the interest of public health and security).

The following prayer points and scriptures shall serve as prayer guide for the 3-Day National Stay-Home Fast and Prayer Action:

DAY ONE: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2014

  • Acknowledgement of the grace and blessings of Almighty God on our families, communities, and nation [Psalm 124:1, Psalm 94:1-4]
  • Confession of, and repentance from, individual, family, church, and national sins [Proverbs 28:13; Daniel 9, Nehemiah 1:1-11, Psalm 51, 2 Chronicles 7:13-16

DAY TWO: THURSDAY, AUGUST 7, 2014

  • Mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation in the family, community, and nation [St. Matthew 6:6-12, St. Mark 11:23-25, ETC.

DAY THREE, FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 2014

  • Prayer for spiritual, physical and moral healing and restoration in the land [2 Chronicles 7:14, Psalm 107, Psalm 123:3]

 The National 3-Day Stay-Home Fast and Prayer Action will be climaxed with National Thanksgiving and Praise on Sunday, August 10, 2014. All are encouraged to go to places of worship on Sunday to praise and thank God for His mercy and forgiveness on Liberia.
