Russell Crowe to star in new Noah film with Jennifer Connelly, and Anthony Hopkins.


It’s one of the oldest stories ever told, but Darren Aronofsky still has found a way to make the tale of Noah, his grand ark and the mother of all floods modern. “I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it’s a reality. Genesis 6:14 #noah,” the Oscar-nominated director tweeted last month before production started in Iceland on his biblical event movie, Noah, in theaters March 28, 2014.

Crowe takes the voyage with his on-screen spouse fromA Beautiful Mind, Jennifer Connelly, who stars as Noah’s wife, Naameh. The cast also includes Ray Winstone as Noah’s archenemy Tubal-Cain, Emma Watson as Noah’s adopted daughter, Ila, and Douglas Booth andLogan Lerman as his sons, Shem and Ham, respectively.

Aronofsky has taken to his Twitter feed to give daily updates on Noah for his followers, including casting news — confirming Anthony Hopkins as Noah’s ageless grandfather Methuselah, for example — and teasing to the existence of angelic Nephilim in the film.
